Michael Manning (B. 1985, CA) is among the faction of young artists interested in the functions and aesthetics of the Internet; His practice revolves around the increasing homogenization of culture as a result of the Internet. Manning explores the capacities and limitations of software like Microsoft Paint, which he uses to create abstract-expressionistic digital works.
In Sticky Bumps, a title taken from legendary California surf wax producers, Manning presents a series of works and installation elements, which mean to question their place in objecthood.
