Aujourd’hui is happy to present an exclusive selection of pictures from Galerie Valentin’s archive, that documents not only the gallery's program throughout the last two decades, but also the evolution of an exhibition's photographic documentation.
Founded in 1994 by Frédérique and Philippe Valentin, the gallery has built his path around the french and international emerging art scene and generation. They manipulate with a certain distance the new forms of practices bounded to the development of the internet networks. Throughout their way, they realized first exhibitions of artists who become to date some strong references in contemporary art. The two galerists attach a particular importance on the diversity of their displays. They don't hesitate to transform the whole space to let it totally available for artists. The solid exchanges they maintain with the international scene leads them to participate to the most important worldwide fairs. In 2012, they included a second space in the parisian gallery called « Project Room » to let a free field of creation and experience for young artists and curators like the show curated by CURA Italian team in 2014. In this same movement, they created monCHERI in the Belgian capital with the galerist JeanRochDard in April 2014. Thanks to the risk taking and the freedom they had in this new space, they invite emerging artists to develop projects and new forms of exhibitions.
